Fulper Family Farms

Hunterdon County
The farm produces: Corn, soybeans, small grains, hay, and straw
Rob Fulper and his son RJ farm 1200 acres in the rolling hills of West Amwell, Hunterdon County, NJ, where they grow commodity crops including corn and soybeans, as well as hay and straw. Fulper Family Farms is a 5th generation operation—Rob’s grandmother started farming in the area when she bought the original land, an old apple orchard, and set about rehabilitating it into cropland with her son. Over the years the farm has been a dairy, and produced vegetables, including tomatoes for Campbell Soup. The Fulpers have always aimed for diversity in their operation, which increases efficiency and return on investment. No-till farming for 50 years and continuing to work with NRCS on conservation projects, the Fulper’s continue to try new conservation techniques like cover crops and planting green.

During different times of the year, the farm also hosts school tours, has a corn maze and a sunflower trail.
Debbie Norz is a graduate of the New Jersey Agricultural Leadership Development Program and a past member of the State Board of Agriculture. She currently serves on the Somerset County Board of Agriculture, as well as Direct Marketers Association, the County’s Ag Development Board and the Hillsborough Agricultural Committee.
