About The Event

Tour Description:  Duke Farms is a 2,700 acre center for environmental stewardship in Hillsborough, NJ. Learn about their ongoing research into the effects of regenerative cattle grazing on plant and animal communities. The tour can be catered towards participant interests in discussing strategies for fencing, shade, and water management, learning about the use of goats for managing invasive species, composting with municipal leaves, and equipment on the farm (including a Shade Haven portable shade structure, compost windrow turner, screener, and other tools essential to their operations). And of course come to network with fellow farmers!

If you have time before or after, make sure to take a stroll around the property and check out their orchid greenhouse. The property is gorgeous!

This will primarliy be a walking tour, but guests may be able to drive between sites by vehicle if long walking distances are not possible.

*For biosecurity purposes, guests may be required at the discretion of the farm host to wear plastic boot covers or scrub their footwear down with bleach and scrub brush that will be supplied at the tour.
