RFN-NJ 2025 Steering Committee and Regional Leadership Training: Applications Now Open!

Updated: 11 hours ago

2024 Steering Committee Members

The Regenerative Farm Network (RFN-NJ) is seeking six RFN-NJ members to participate in the 2025 RFN-NJ Steering Committee and take part in the Regional Leadership Training. Selected members will participate in both opportunities and choose to serve in a 1-year or 2-year term.

Steering Committee:

The Steering Committee helps with outreach to keep RFN-NJ growing and provides guidance on the direction of RFN-NJ events and content.

Regional Leadership Training:

New Jersey and the Northeast region needs more regenerative leaders. As part of the Regional Leadership Training, members receive stipends to develop their leadership skills and deepen their knowledge of regenerative agriculture. This is a flexible program and can include covering costs to attend a conference, course, participate in a speaking engagement, etc.

The following criteria will be taken into consideration when selecting committee members:

  • Farming operation, size, location (a diverse range of types & locations solicited).

  • Farming experience (+3 years of farming experience preferred but not necessary).

  • Historically underserved (HU) status: for more information, visit NRCS HU.

  • The selected members must be able to attend roughly four remote Zoom meetings (we can help set you up if you're not familiar with Zoom)

  • And attend roughly two in-person meetings, likely to be held around Asbury, NJ in Warren County each year while on the committee.

Budget and Time:

North Jersey RC&D recognizes that farmers have limited time, yet their participation is vital to making RFN-NJ successful. Therefore committee members will receive stipends to compensate them for their contribution. We work around the growing season as much as possible and keep most meetings to the shoulder season. Meetings typically run for 1.5 hours or less.

Non-HU committee members will receive up to a $1,000 stipend for their time on the Steering Committee plus up to $800 towards education and leadership training, for a total of up to $1,800 each year as a committee member.

HU committee members will receive up to a $1,000 stipend for time on the Steering Committee plus up to $1,000 towards education and leadership training, for a total of up to $2,000 each year as a committee member.

Interested in Applying? Applications are due by Feb. 2nd, 2025.
